1. Why did you become a Massage Therapist? And why do you stay as a Massage Therapist?
I have been using healing touch for most of my life; It comes naturally to me. When I experienced professional massage as part of my therapy following an injury, I realized how far reaching a profession it truly is. That was when I realized that massage therapy was the profession I wanted to pursue. Massage school was a natural next step. I love helping people on their path to good health. Relieving pain, increasing range of motion and flexibility and making everyday tasks easier is a very rewarding occupation; One I love.
2. What’s your massage/health philosophy?
The body is an integrated organism. No one part is separate from the whole. So what we eat or drink(,) or how much exercise we get, or how much stress we experience, is going to affect the whole organism. Intentional management of our lives leads to better health, and massage is one important aspect of that.
3. What books are on your shelf?
My taste in books, like my taste in music is very eclectic. JRR Tolkien, Ted Dekker, Emily Bronte and Margaret Mitchell all share space with Calvin and Hobbes and Rose is Rose.
